Less than an hour away is Le Mans and its 24-hour race circuit, of course, but that's not all!?The former capital of Maine, Le Mans has been designated a Town of Art and History, and its rich past has left it with a prestigious built heritage, as evidenced by its historic quarter, the Plantagenet city. Listed as a conservation area and protected by an imposing Roman wall, it is home to Saint-Julien cathedral, one of the largest in France; the former palace of the Counts of Maine; and a number of museums that you can discover as you wander through the picturesque cobbled streets lined with timber-framed houses and private mansions.
Tours is also 45 minutes away. The present-day capital of Touraine has preserved much evidence of its past as the former capital of the kingdom of France in the 15th and 16th centuries. Its heart beats around its old quarter and famous Place Plumereau, lined with timber-framed houses. You can also visit the city's flagship monument: Saint-Gatien's Cathedral, as well as the Psalette cloister, the Royal Castle and the city's various museums: the Touraine Archaeological Museum, the Fine Arts Museum and the Touraine Wine Museum.
There's plenty to discover... You'll see that there's no shortage of ideas around our hotel, and our entire team will be delighted to advise you and recommend its partners for organising visits to vineyards, castles, etc.
